Multi award winning Central Coast country music radio station todayscountry94one is moving into a new phase following the retirement of five long serving Directors at this month’s annual general meeting.
Those who have left the Board are former Chairman David Bacon, deputy Chairman Rod McCormack, secretary Ron Sinclair and husband and wife team Wendy and Jim McCormack. All are Life Members of the station.
David Bacon and Ron Sinclair were involved with the organisation since its founders – renowned producer, recording artist and musician Rod McCormack and country music star Adam Harvey – first formed a plan in 2007 to bid for the licence made available by the retirement of its previous holder, Rob Carr.
David Bacon is well known in the Central Coast community and has had a wealth of commercial radio experience. His contribution to the stations success has been invaluable.
Entertainer, former presenter and television personality Ron Sinclair was involved from the start of Rod and Adams plans to establish todayscountry94one.
Wendy and Jim McCormack joined the Board in 2013, bringing with them Wendy’s experience in local, Sydney and interstate media, their 10 year involvement with a Port Stephens community station plus Jim’s technical knowledge.
Incoming Chairman Colin Links has ties with Central Coast and Sydney print media. In his annual report he thanked the outgoing Board members for their years of voluntary work, helping establish what is now a thriving multi award winning station. “Theirs are big shoes to fill and we thank them for many years of long hours and service. We wish them well in their future endeavours,” he said. “The new Board of Directors will endeavour to build on the success of the outgoing Directors.”
