Brand New Star  

Todayscountry94one’s BRAND NEW STAR  is the premier event for new and emerging country music artist’s or country music duos / vocal trios and provides an opportunity to take the next step towards a successful music career.

Entry is now open to anyone aged 15 – 35 years. Entries close Saturday 20th May 2023 5pm.

Winner:

 Gina Jeffreys will select the winner of her Mentoring Session from the Finalists.

All finalists will be accompanied by Simon Johnson’s Band for the Grand Final.

Our Judging Panel includes Alan Gilmour (Australian Songwriters Assoc.) and celebrity judges Bryce Sainty, Sarah Lanser country music artist and educator and Chelsea Berman country music artist & Toyota Star Maker finalist 2019. Brand New Star 2010 winner Max Jackson recently won Toyota Star Maker 2022.

Mackenzie Lee Winner Brand new Star 2023

Mackenzie Lee a singer-songwriter and guitarist from the NSW Hunter Valley.

Crowned the overall winner of the inaugural Tamworth Country Music Festival Macca’s Golden Gig Talent Quest in 2022, recently named the 2023 ICMA Patti McKinnon Encouragement Award recipient, she was also a finalist in the 2022 Tamworth Songwriters Association Salute Awards with two songs in the youth section from her latest Ep self-titled “Mackenzie Lee”.

Her music has been influenced by many artists ranging from Lorretta Lynn to Luke Bryan. Mackenzie Lee’s debut Ep “Sometimes I Wonder”, produced by Bill Chambers at Chambers Avenue was released in June 2021 followed by her latest release “Mackenzie Lee” also produced by Bill Chambers and mixed by Nash Chambers at Troubadour House Nashville in March 2022.

Mackenzie Lee looks forward to continuing her music career and now having finished high school is pursuing further studies in Sound Production with the goal of recording her own music and is very excited to be attending the Academy of Country Music in Tamworth in July 2023.

Volunteers Needed !

Todayscountry94one is urgently looking for volunteers with grant writing experience to assist in applying for grants which help to keep the station operational. We are also looking for volunteers with a love of country music to help with the office administration.
