The festival is the next chapter in a story that began with single and album launches in the small North West NSW town, organised by local artist and musician Sam Snape.
What started as a way of bringing people together around country music has grown into a full-scale festival, with Sam now taking things one step further with a stage he has built himself.
There has already been plenty of interest in the stage on social media, which will be the centrepiece of the festival at The Commercial Hotel.
Sam said it was exciting to see an idea that began with small events in Boggabri grow into a country music festival.
“I’ve done a few single and album launches here in Boggabri over the past few years and the community has always really got behind them,” Sam said.
“That’s where the idea for Good Friends Country Festival came from. I thought, why not bring even more artists to town and turn it into a proper country music festival?
“I’ve even built the stage myself, so to see it all coming together and the interest people have shown in it online has been pretty special.
“We’ve got artists coming from right across the country and I’m really excited to see everyone in Boggabri, enjoying a great day and night of country music.”
Max Jackson said she was thrilled to be part of the inaugural festival.
“I am so excited to be a part of Good Friends Fest 2026,” Max said.
“I’ve been hearing from our mate Sam Snape about some of the events he’s put on in Boggabri and how the community has really come out in droves to support them.
“That, and the idea behind Good Friends Country Festival, reminded me so much of my own little hometown and that country community spirit that is so worth celebrating.
“I just know this is going to be one very special first festival to be a part of.”
With this year’s event representing a significant step up in size and scale, Max said she was looking forward to bringing plenty of energy to Boggabri.
“We’re really excited to bring a huge amount of fun and energy to help round out the biggest Good Friends Fest yet,” Max said.
“I reckon we might even have to drag the local legend himself, Sam Snape, up for a song with us!
“See you soon, Boggabri. I’ll be counting down to seeing you all!”
Tickets for Good Friends Fest are selling fast, with numbers strictly limited by the capacity of The Commercial Hotel.
Camping is available at the Boggabri Showground, making it easy for country music fans to make a weekend of it.
